What If the Hard Moments Were Telling You Something?
Maybe you're wondering:
- Why is this so hard?
- Is this normal?
- What am I missing?
- How can I help?
Whether it's meltdowns, bedtime battles, constant movement, big emotions, or struggles with transitions, it's easy to feel frustrated and even easier to wonder if you're doing something wrong.
But what if those hard moments weren't failures?
What if they were information?
Because behavior is only part of the story.
Here's What Most Parenting Advice Misses
Children grow from the bottom up and inside out.Â
The skills we notice on the surface are built on many different foundations developing underneath.Â
When those foundations are still growing, the hard moments often become louder.
But they're not just behaviors to manage or problems to stop.
They're clues that help us understand what a child may need.
Most parenting resources start with strategies.
Sprout Skills at Home starts with understanding.
One activity might solve today's challenge.
Understanding helps you navigate tomorrow's, and next week's, and the hundreds of everyday moments still to come.
Hi, I'm Kari.
Pediatric occupational therapist. Mom of three little sprouts.Â
After nearly a decade of working with children and families as a pediatric occupational therapist, I kept seeing the same gap: parents were often given a variety of strategies to try at home, but not always the understanding behind them to know what to do with those strategies and how to make them fit their own child in the everyday moments between appointments.
Sprout Skills at Home was created to help close that gap. To take what we know about child development and translate it into something parents can actually understand and use in everyday life.
Developmental knowledge, translated for real families.Â

Sprout Skills at Home Was Made for the Parent Who...

- wonders whether what they’re seeing is typical, a phase, or something worth paying closer attention to
- has tried tips that worked for a little while, but didn’t really help them understand their child
- wants to support development without feeling like they constantly have to replace everyday life with special setups or new activitiesÂ

What age range is this for?
Does my child need to be struggling to benefit?
My child is already working with a therapist. Can I still use this?
What if my child is neurodivergent or develops differently?
How much time will this take?
Is this just a library of activities?
What if I join and realize it isn't for me?
What do I get when I join?
Supporting families professionally?
Sprout Skills at Home can also help organizations extend developmental education beyond the appointment, classroom, or program.
For pediatric practices, early intervention programs, childcare organizations, and other family-serving professionals.
You don’t have to know everything about child development.
You just need a better way to understand what you’re seeing.
Your child is growing right now, in the ordinary moments, the hard moments, and every moment in between.
Understanding what that growth needs, and how to support it with confidence, can change the way those everyday moments feel.
Sprout Skills at Home was built to help you do exactly that. Not by adding more to your day, but by helping you see the day you’re already living through a clearer developmental lens.
